Winter Swell brings new life to The Bluffs

With the winter swells rolling through the North Shore, a surge of life has once again taken over the Bluffs.  Earth is once again moving on the lots as the neighborhood enters into a new stage.  There are a few lots now with homes under construction, bringing a new face to the Bluffs.  And lucky for you, there are still some great ocean view lots available for sale in the North Shore’s newest subdivision!

Haleiwa is bustling with its winter residents back at their winter homes.  With the growing popularity of the North Shore, these ocean view lots are the perfect buy for investors and those smitten with the North Shore’s unique culture.

The excitement of the new homeowners is reminiscent of the North Shore vibe.  Each new owner stops by when they see that our sales office door is open.  They pop their heads in and we sit and talk about the new lots that sold, or the next stage of construction for

their new home.  There is nothing but that contagious upbeat attitude that fills the office, and it resonates to the beautiful ocean view lots that surround it.

Come out to feel and see what it is all about!  Visit the site, and meet your new neighbors, friends, and see what this subdivision has to offer!  Experience the North Shore, the scenic ocean views, the pristine beaches, and fall in love with a lifestyle.  Luckily, unlike the winter swells, these lots and their ocean views are here to stay!

Castle Surf Jewel at Diamond Head

There is something special about the Gold Coast at Diamond Head in Honolulu Hawaii … maybe it’s the feel of the warm morning sun when walking along the promenade and sandy beach to Waikiki for your morning coffee – or maybe it’s the cool trade winds breezes in the late afternoon when you are relaxing on your lanai after a hard day’s work or play as you watch the brilliant sunset fade into the Pacific Ocean.  No matter what it is, people come from around the world to experience and enjoy it.

Honolulu’s Gold Coast sits between the historical landmark Diamond Head and the famous Waikiki Beach with the oceanfront coastline to the south and the beautiful and expansive Kapiolani Park to the north. Kapiolani Park is the venue for many family and community celebrations, concerts at The Waikiki Shell, sporting and art events, and the home of the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium. Nestled in the midst of this fabulous Hawaiian paradise you find a string of buildings where residents and vacationers find a place to dream and hang their hats even if it’s for just a short time – before they return to their homeland.  The Castle Surf is one of these Gold Coast Retreats. This fee simple low rise condominium building features direct beach access, perfect for surfers and sun worshippers. Castle Surf offers one and two bedroom units complete with washer / dryer, storage and a coveted parking space.

Castle Surf #56 is unique with its heavenly ocean and tree top view from the lanai. This lovely one bedroom one bath unit has an open floor plan with trade wind breezes throughout – a perfect place to relax, put your feet up and listen to music through your Bose Surround System. This Hawaiian style condominium features new Acacia Koa hardwood floors, built-in Hawaiian Koa desk, upgraded appliances and cabinets, double paned windows and a split A/C unit for those days that bring the warm Kona winds. Castle Surf #56 is Hawaiian living at its best.

Spectacular Ocean View Home on Oahu

Nestled on the slopes of Koko Head on the island of Oahu, sits this one-story home with incredible ocean views.  The pool deck and all major rooms of this lovely home provide spectacular views of the ocean, Diamond Head, and the marina community of Hawaii Kai.  Four bedrooms and single-level construction makes this home perfect for those not wanting to climb stairs.  Did I mention the ocean views are simply stunning?

The neighborhood of Koko Kai at Portlock offers many nearby amenities including wonderful restaurants and convenient shopping.  You can live the Hawaiian lifestyle with an array of water activities in the ocean at scenic Maunalua Bay or the Hawaii Kai marina.  For those with boats, the marina has docks – there is great fishing directly off Portlock where one might catch tuna, and marlin among many others.  I am always mesmerized watching boats in Maunalua Bay, going in and out of the channel to the marina.  Many of the area’s surf breaks can be seen from this property. Grab your kayak, surf or stand-up board and have some fun!

A great value, its not often that you can find a one-story home with an amazing ocean view and swimming pool to call home. Click here to view my listing on 89 Lumahai Street.

North Shore Beach Front Paradise

“Bali-ho” as the owners lovingly call it, is a beautifully appointed beach front home on Oahu’s North Shore.  The Balinese inspired furnishings and décor are complimented with state of the art amenities.  Amenities range from eco-friendly electric timers and a water purification system, to outdoor showers and a hot tub made for enjoying the sunsets!  The advantage of having a beach front home is that you are literally a few steps away from a beautiful expanse of white sand that leads you right into the pristine Pacific.

This beach front home is located in the North Shore community of Waialua, just minutes from the bustling galleries and cafes of Haleiwa town.  Haleiwa, the North Shore’s central hub gives you a taste of old Hawaii, while offering a cultural experience like no other.  The bustling cafes and shops fill with visitors and locals, all enjoying the ambiance that the North Shore culture provides.  They town hosts weekly farmer’s markets, showing off the talent of the North Shore’s finest farmers and craftsmen.   However, Oahu’s North Shore is most famous for its beautiful beaches which are tranquil during the summer months only to give way to the spectacular winter surf that attracts surfers and spectators who aredrawn to its beauty and power.

This gorgeous beach front home awaits the perfect owner.  It yearns for someone who wants to embrace the culture of the North Shore and be able to relax at their own beach front paradise!

Portlock on Maunalua Bay

Named after whaling captain, Nathaniel Portlock, Portlock is one of the Islands’ most preferred neighborhoods.  A focal point of the community was the estate of the famous industrialist and philanthropist Henry J. Kaiser and currently owned by Fred and Annie Chan. Considered a haven for elegant living on the island of Oahu, the neighborhood provides the advantages of suburban living, including quiet seclusion, while still within close proximity to the attractions and business center of metropolitan Honolulu.  Portlock is adjacent to Hawaii Kai, which provides all the conveniences needed for comfortable living, including shopping, excellent schools, medical facilities, and fine dining.

The Portlock properties fronting the ocean are among the most desired on East Oahu.  There are about 50 oceanfront parcels in the neighborhood, with a handful having a Kalanianaole Highway address.  The neighborhood fronts Maunalua Bay, providing for a variety of water activities such as boating and surfing and is uniquely situated so as to minimize off-shore wind.  The views from Portlock are some of the most spectacular on the island.  The vistas of Diamond Head and the East Oahu coastline are both dramatic and serene.  Residents are treated to glorious sunsets, and the panorama of twinkling lights at night is breathtaking.

The average lot size for oceanfront parcels is approximately 18,000 square feet, with about 90 linear feet of ocean frontage.  Homes in the area were originally built about 50 or 60 years ago by Kamaaina families as summer homes although there were those who would commute to the city on a daily basis, as they do today.   In recent years, many of the homes have been updated or replaced completely. The new luxury homes being built tend to be quite large, often containing 5,000 to 6,000 square feet with an endless array of amenities.  This upgrading of the neighborhood has resulted in a dramatic increase in value of individual properties, as evidenced by recent sales activity in the area.

The market for luxury properties in Hawaii is global, and marketing properties of this caliber requires international exposure. As is the case with other high-end neighborhoods, many potential buyers for Portlock oceanfront offerings are coming from off-shore locations beyond Hawaii. Although new homes are being built and home owners come from all over the world, the neighborhood retains its unique charm of old Hawaii and an island lifestyle we cherish.
